Who's Behind the Lens

memory maker  *  mommy enthusiast  *  baby whisperer  *  laugh grabber

Hello.  Thanks for dropping by to learn a bit about me!  I'm Shannon behind the lens at Shannon Decole Photography.  I'm originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma but moved to Miami when I was 14 years old.  I'm a married mom of two humans (m&m) and four fur babies -- two rotties and two Maine coons.

Although I'm a reading specialist by degree and an educator by training, I will always be a photographer at heart.  I was (and still am) always the girl with the camera.  From an 11 year old preteen up until now I have been in love with my finger pressing the shutter button.  I'll never forget my days going to Eckerd's Drugstore with rolls of film anxiously waiting to pick them up in a few days.  The anticipation was almost unbearable!  After taking a photography course while earning my Bachelor's degree, developing my own images, constantly being asked to take pictures at events and of friends I knew that it would become more than just a hobby and would need to look into this "photography gig" professionally.  I haven't looked back.

With a camera in hand, I am totally in my element!  Trained with world renowned photographers, I have been shooting professionally for the past six years.  I am constantly seeking knowledge about my craft and attend at least one-two workshops yearly networking and learning with other great photographers in the business.

Photography to me is more than just taking pictures.  I take the time to get to know you personally.  The more we connect the more your personality will shine through your images.  Whenever I work with you I look forward to creating something fresh and personal specific to you. From the very first phone call to images adorning your home's walls, I enjoy the process!  Many of my clients have become friends.  I am passionate about the work I do and my goal is to create art for you that you can cherish for years to come!

In my spare time I love to travel, buy shoes, gourmet cook and craft (crochet, scrapbook, home decorate). I also collect recipe books and shot glasses of each country or city I visit.

Take a look around; if you're interested in booking, let's chat; I'm just a click or phone call away!
